Lacanian Clinical Workshop: From the First Session to the Last

This workshop relies on an oral transmission and dynamic discussions based on the clinical material brought by participants to the group. In a Lacanian School we must not miss the impossible, the unsayable and thus must face the ultimate emptiness of signification. Working with the unconscious, we rely on some kind of knowing of “unknowingness.” What does it sound like when an analysand speaks? How do we experience the precarious position of the analyst? The format of this workshop is based on open presentations of clinical material, open questions, theoretical texts we read and discuss together, and the exploration of weaving theory and clinic.

The following themes will be discussed and explored during the workshop: The first session, the position of the analyst, diagnosis, ethics in the room, RSI in the room, symptom and Sinthome, jouissance in the room, returning to one of Freud’s case studies, control analysis and the transmission of psychoanalysis, the last session and/or the end of analysis.
